Enez Monumental Jars

Low, wide and heavy-shouldered, this Enez jar has a chalky pink-white surface that reads almost as plaster at a distance. Between 100 and 110 cm, it belongs to the family of large oil-storage vessels made on the northern Aegean coast. The squat proportion gives it a settled presence, closer to a piece of masonry than a pot. Set it on a pool terrace, in an olive garden or in a wide entrance hall, where its mass has room. Each is sold as a single piece.
