Olive Dağar & Copper
Olive Dağar Jar, I
DA-0901 · Southeastern Anatolia
Embossed marks and rope-like bands circle the body of this olive dağar jar, a round-bellied clay form of enormous capacity from southeastern Anatolia. It was made to store olives, and the scale is monumental. Standing alone in a courtyard, a hotel lobby or an olive garden, it needs no companion. Forms like this are held in very small numbers. Olive Dağar Jar I is sold as a single piece, with transport planned around its size and weight.
